— PARENT OF 16 YEAR OLD CONNECT PARTICIPANT

Dear parent of a neurodivergent tween or teen who struggles with social skills and making new friends:

I see how thoughtful and proactive you are in supporting your child, and I know how much you want them to feel included, confident, and understood with their peers.

Good news:

You absolutely can give your child the tools to build and maintain meaningful friendships.

THERE’S JUST ONE…OKAY, A FEW…CHALLENGES STANDING IN YOUR WAY:

You’ve tried to help your child with social skills, but they still:

  • Freeze up or give one-word answers when someone tries to talk to them—and don’t know how to keep the conversation going

  • Launch into a long explanation about their favorite topic, not realizing the other person is confused, disinterested, or trying to change the subject

  • Say something that unintentionally sounds rude or too honest—then feel bad later but can’t figure out what went wrong

  • Come home from school feeling left out, saying no one talked to them, but they’re not sure why or how to change it

  • Get frustrated when you try to help—because “you don’t get it” or “that won’t work,” and they feel like they’ve already tried everything

Supporting your child in learning how to make and keep friends can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve already tried:

  • Role-playing social situations

  • Encouraging them to "just say hi"

  • Hoping socializing at school or activities would help them "pick it up on their own"

I know how you feel—because as a speech-language pathologist who specializes in social communication, I’ve worked with hundreds of neurodivergent kids and teens who were facing these exact same challenges.

And I’m here to help.

I specialize in helping neurodivergent tweens, teens, and young adults who struggle with social skills learn how to confidently connect with others and build meaningful friendships.

If you’ve ever felt frustrated, heartbroken, or unsure of how to help your child navigate friendships, you’re not alone. I know how tough it can be to watch them struggle — to see them left out, misunderstood, or unsure of what to say in social situations.

With my step-by-step framework, drawing on the evidence-based PEERS® curriculum, inside the CONNECT Program, I’ve helped countless kids go from frustrated and isolated to confident and socially engaged.

I’ve also helped countless families just like yours to:

Give their child the tools to navigate social interactions with confidence
Increase social engagement without stress or pressure
Improve self-esteem, reducing anxiety around making friends
Develop lasting, meaningful friendships
Strengthen family communication and connection

And I know I can support you and your child in experiencing the same results.

The ability to build friendships isn’t about personality — it’s about learning the skills to connect in a way that feels natural to them. And with the right guidance, they can do it.

You don’t have to figure this out alone. I’m here to support you and your child every step of the way.

And I’d be honored to support your family on this journey. 💛

Because here’s what happens when your child knows how to connect with others:

  • They’ll know how to start, maintain, and end conversations appropriately.

  • They’ll feel confident and included – and make friends more easily!

  • They’ll show up to school and activities with more ease and excitement.

INTRODUCING

The CONNECT Program for Tweens & Teens

An 8-week in-person social communication group for neurodivergent tweens and teens who want to learn the tools and strategies for real-world connection and friendship building.

This program is grounded in evidence-based practices and includes elements from the UCLA PEERS® curriculum—adapted to be more neurodiversity-affirming, flexible, and supportive of how your child learns best.

This in-person group program is located in Ahwatukee, Arizona.

We start August 2025. Only 6 spots available.

Here’s how the CONNECT Program helps your child build real-world social skills:

  • Your child will attend a 60-minute small group session each week, where they’ll learn one key social skill, practice it through role-play, and receive supportive feedback.

These sessions provide a safe and structured space for your child to build confidence while connecting with peers—so they can finally feel successful in social interactions.

  • The CONNECT Program curriculum blends strategies from the research-backed UCLA PEERS® model with Gabby’s original Social Skills Blueprint™ conversation framework.

You can feel confident knowing your child is learning skills that are practical, effective, neurodiversity-affirming, and grounded in what actually works—so they can connect with others in a way that feels good to them.

  • Your child will walk away with visual aids, simple scripts, and repeatable conversation tools they can use immediately—both in and outside of the group.

No more vague advice or “just be nice” messaging. These are real tools that help your child feel prepared and successful in real-life situations.

  • As a parent, you play a key role too.

Unlike traditional social skills groups, CONNECT includes built-in parent coaching with weekly lesson handouts, so you can confidently support your child’s growth at home and help reinforce their skills between sessions. This consistent support helps your child feel more prepared and confident in everyday social situations.

    Imagine your child…
Excited to hang out with friends instead of feeling left out
Feeling confident in conversations instead of anxious or unsure
Navigating social situations with more ease and less overwhelm

With your support at home and my guidance in the group, your child will have the tools they need to have great conversations and build friendships that last.

  • Throughout the CONNECT Program, your child will learn foundational conversation tools drawn from Gabby’s Social Skills Blueprint™—a practical, step-by-step framework for how to start, maintain, and end conversations.

Unlike many traditional social skills groups, CONNECT incorporates these tools throughout the program, helping your child feel more confident, connected, and prepared to develop friendships through the power of conversation.

Because conversations are the foundation of every friendship—and your child deserves to feel confident connecting with others.

What Your Child Will Learn During the 8-Week CONNECT Program

TO HELP THEM BUILD GENUINE FRIENDSHIPS & FEEL MORE CONFIDENT IN EVERY KIND OF SOCIAL SITUATION.

🗣️ How to Start and Keep a Conversation Going

Your child will learn the exact steps for starting a conversation, asking follow-up questions, and noticing when someone is interested in talking—so connecting with peers feels easier, and less confusing or one-sided. Because conversation is the foundation of every friendship.

📱 How to Navigate Texts, Phone Calls, and Social Media

I take the guesswork out of digital communication by breaking down the unspoken rules around texting, calling, and interacting online—so your child can feel more included and less overwhelmed.

👥 How to Join a Group Conversation with Confidence

No more standing on the sidelines. Your child will learn how to approach a group, read the room, and join in (even if they're unsure at first)—plus how to handle it with confidence if they’re not welcomed in.

🎉 How to Plan and Have Social Hangouts

Knowing how to invite a friend over, plan a get-together, or follow up afterward is a big part of maintaining real friendships—and we’ll walk through it all step by step.

🛡️ How to Handle Rejection, Teasing, and Bullying

Your child will learn how to protect their confidence and respond with comebacks that help rather than make things worse when faced with teasing or exclusion—so they feel safer and more in control in tough moments.

🤝 How to Work Through Disagreements Without Losing the Friendship

Your child will learn how to share their side, listen to others, and resolve disagreements—because real friendships don’t end over one tough moment.

FAQs

  • CONNECT stands for Creating Opportunities for Neurodivergent Networking, Expression, Communication, and Transformation.

It’s an in-person social communication group for neurodivergent tweens and teens, led by a licensed speech-language pathologist who specializes in supporting social communication. The program teaches specific tools, strategies, and step-by-step techniques to help participants build stronger conversation skills and develop meaningful friendships.

CONNECT combines the evidence-based practices from the UCLA PEERS® curriculum with Gabby Pyzza’s original Social Skills Blueprint™ conversation framework—creating a neurodiversity-affirming, practical, and highly supportive experience designed to meet learners where they are.

  • If your child verbally communicates and expresses their thoughts, needs, and feelings (rather than primarily communicating by repeating or echoing others), understands and responds to others, is open to learning new strategies, and struggles with things like conversation, connection, or making and keeping friends—then this program is likely a great fit.

As part of the application process, we’ll schedule a brief virtual interview that your child must attend. This allows me to get to know them and ensures that the group is the right fit based on their communication and learning level.

Unlike many other programs that group kids only by age without considering developmental fit, CONNECT is intentionally designed to match participants by age, communication, and learning levels. This creates a supportive environment where each child is surrounded by peers who are at a similar stage of social learning—so they feel understood, encouraged, and never out of place. When kids are in a group that’s the right fit, they’re more likely to participate, connect, and experience meaningful progress.

  • Many social skills groups focus on general socializing or group activities—but don’t always teach how to build real connections step by step, or match participants based on their communication or learning level.

The CONNECT Program is different. It combines research-backed practices from the UCLA PEERS® curriculum with Gabby Pyzza’s original Social Skills Blueprint™ framework to teach practical, real-world strategies for conversation and friendship building. Every participant learns specific tools they can apply right away—not vague advice or one-size-fits-all lessons.

Plus, unlike many programs that place kids by age alone, CONNECT groups are thoughtfully matched by communication and learning readiness. This creates a supportive environment where participants can feel comfortable, connect with peers who are at a similar stage, and make real progress without feeling left behind or out of place.

  • I understand that life happens—and if your child misses a session, I’m happy to connect briefly with you to review what was covered and walk you through the week’s home practice assignment. This way, your child can stay on track and continue making progress, even if they miss a group session.

That said, please know that the CONNECT Program is designed to build skills week by week, and each session builds on the one before. For this reason, I’m unable to offer makeup sessions or provide individual instruction for missed lessons.

I encourage families to prioritize attending each session whenever possible, as consistent participation is key to helping your child stay engaged, confident, and supported throughout the program. Refunds are not provided for missed sessions.

I'm here to support both you and your child along the way—and I’m excited to watch their confidence and connection skills grow!

  • Every child’s progress looks a little different, and results depend on many factors—including their starting point, participation in group, and how much they practice outside of sessions.

While I can’t guarantee specific outcomes like making new friends or becoming a conversation expert overnight, what I can promise is a safe, supportive space where your child will learn practical tools, build confidence, and have meaningful opportunities to grow.

The goal is steady, lasting progress—not perfection—and I’m here to support your child (and you!) every step of the way.

  • Each week, you’ll receive a handout that reviews what your child learned in group, along with simple home practice assignments to help them practice the skills at home. These resources are designed to keep you in the loop and give you tools to support your child’s progress between sessions—no extra prep required.

You can support your child by reviewing the handouts together, encouraging practice in everyday situations, and celebrating the small wins as they build confidence. Your involvement, even in small ways, can make a big difference—and I’m here to guide you through it step by step.

  • Because spots are limited and each child’s consistent participation is essential to creating a safe, supportive group environment, we’re unable to offer refunds once the program begins. If you have any questions before enrolling or need help deciding if the program is the right fit, I’m happy to connect and talk it through with you first.

Here’s what happens when you apply for the CONNECT Program today:

  • STEP 1: APPLY

Click the “Apply for the CONNECT Program” button and fill out an application form with a few questions about your child.

At the end of the form, you’ll be prompted to schedule a 15-minute virtual interview.

  • STEP 2: VIRTUAL INTERVIEW

Attend your scheduled interview. Your child must be present for this call so I can get to know them, answer any questions, and most importantly, make sure the group is the right fit based on their communication and learning level.

Unlike many other programs that group kids without considering developmental fit, CONNECT is intentionally designed to match participants by age and learning readiness—so your child is in a group with peers who are learning at a similar pace, which leads to more meaningful growth and progress.

  • STEP 3: COMPLETE ENROLLMENT

If it feels like a match, I’ll walk you through the next steps to complete your enrollment and help get you and your child ready for the group. If we’ve confirmed the group is a good fit, a deposit will be required to secure your child’s spot after the interview.

Each group is limited to just 6 participants, and spots fill quickly.

Even if your child walks away with just one powerful skill—like how to start a conversation with confidence—the CONNECT Program would be worth it.

BUT THEY’LL GAIN SO MUCH MORE.

With the CONNECT program, your child will:

  • Learn step-by-step conversation tools that make talking with others feel easier

  • Practice new social strategies in a supportive small group with guidance, modeling, and immediate feedback from a licensed speech-language pathologist who specializes in supporting neurodivergent learners with social communication

  • Start building the skills and confidence needed for real connection—both in and beyond the group setting

You're just one step away from helping your teen feel more socially confident, and gaining valuable social skills they’ll use for the rest of their life!
